Are we all worried about Business in the time of COVID-19! Here is brighter side

Are we all worried! I am sure NOT because we have faced many worse situations in past then COVID-19. Yes, this Corona came in time when world was just recovering from recession.
What will happen NEXT?
  • World’s super powers will take a back step from the race of producing arm’s and other sophisticated weapons and focus on Health and people’s well being systems
  • Developing or Poor countries will focus on sanitation
  • More of organic farming will take place
  • Majority will choose vegetarian diet and properly prepared and cooked food
  • Fashion will go into more of functional clothing than just FAD
  • Once again human will start loving being together with family
  • There will be more of balance between work and family
  • Home will become workplace
  • People will start looking home ground as priority than migrating
  • Home industries will gain, Handicraft/handmade will become essential
  • Self-dependency will be on rise rather than working for others
  • Rich people will lose their ground over poor as poor will rise of their own

Now let’s talk about fashion business:
Certainly “great in Fashion” countries like Italy is hard hit by this COVID-19, but positive things which are emerging “Less is more” & “Re-think the essential”. Designers around the globe will be looking into more Sustainability fashion than just designing one eyewash piece. Contemporary fashion or let’s say Back to Basic with great innovation on fabric will be on rise since customer will focus on LESS is MORE and long-lasting clothing.

The laws of nature are such that we assume too much of human intention in everything we do. For e.g., an invisible virus can disrupt the whole existence. What I mean to say is that, we are wholly insignificant in the bigger picture. We are just another element in nature. Because of the fight for resources, there will be an intense rush to the limited available. So basically, humans will go back to what they were doing. Only those who have crossed the barriers of basic survivals (maybe 10% of the population) will talk about sustainability, eco, less, etc. The vast majority of human population who nurture the wealth of those minority will be back doing what their instincts tell them to do - survive.

How will brand survive and what it should do:

It’s pretty much sure that customer will focus more on self-wellbeing such as visiting SPA, Barbour shop, Yoga, Gym, Parks, Holiday etc… fashion will revolve around these concepts. Brand will go for more customization then crowding their store.
  • It will be more of going back in early 90’s walking in to tailored/bespoke shop along with family where felling of home in-terms of hygiene shopping will be on priority and therefor brands will design their sales space accordingly.
  • Capsule shopping would be an idea which brands will look into
  • Brand should think of presenting textile to its customer than the style
  • Open and fair pricing should be told to customer to gain customer confidence
  • Affordable clothing, irrespective of it's source or nature of source.

An Interview with Ni Made Jati - Founder Uluwatu lace - Bali)
Question: What is your prospective on present business scenario?
AnswerThe concepts of mindfulness and well-being will be the marketing tools on which everything will move forward. For e.g., the slogan will be ‘Go Green’ on a polyester mat wrapped in the plastic and sold across a cheap plastic shelve with an offer of free ‘yoga bricks’ made of polyester blend.

Competition will be to get the cheapest product to the customer at the cheapest price, thus stretching the non-buying customer to shell the amount. This is not going to be done by sustainability. Sustainability will be a minority call which will have larger approach to visibility (spending power).

Uluwatu: It's a Balinese women's wear brand since 1978. Since beginning they believed natural fiber is the best solution for humankind. https://www.instagram.com/uluwatulace/
She says I can go on and on. There will be a reversal of the trend in actual and a trend dictated in the minds of the affluent. That’s going to be a funny side-show.

Year Of Rat : Will Businesses See Success or Plague?

2018: It was early 2018 I decided it was time to become an entrepreneur and move into the bandwagon of start-ups. It has been quite a few years since I had my first thought, this moment where I had reached was After great courage, deliberation and situations motivation coming into a conducive environment (or so I thought). I got into business start-up mode. It was a great beginning. All my detailed planning was perfectly working and aligning to my expectation. I had all the perfect condition for seeing my start-up vision being born. The brand I created was imaginative. I received expected acceptance across various malls in capital city - Jakarta and few others metro cities like Semarang, Surabaya and Yogyakarta. Over the months, Sales gradually started going up. All I had to do was keep adding small collections every month and engage the customers directly and indirectly via Social campaign & marketing.
